Notice to Bidders
Farming of Real Property
NOTICE is hereby given that bids will be received by the Frankford Township Committee for the farming of real property owned by the Township of Frankford and identified on the tax map of the Township as follows:
- Block 9, Lot 5, consisting of approximately 41 tillable acres
- Block 10, Lot 6, consisting of approximately 30.50 tillable acres
- Block 18, Lot 7.01, consisting of approximately 19.5 tillable acres
- Block 39, Lot 13, consisting of approximately 46 tillable acres
The bids will be received at a public auction to be conducted at the start of the next regular meeting of the Township Committee at the Frankford Township Municipal Building located at 151 U.S. Highway 206, Augusta, New Jersey, 07822, on November 14, 2023, at 7:00 p.m.
The form of Lease Agreement for the proposed farming of said property has been filed in the office of the Township Clerk, at the address set forth hereinabove, and may be inspected by prospective bidders during regular business hours. Bidders will be furnished with a copy of the form of Agreement by the Township Clerk upon proper notice. Bids shall be received verbally for each property with bids indicating the amount per acre they are willing to pay. Payment shall be due and payable by the successful bidder for one-half of the first year’s total rent following the close of bids and upon execution and delivery of the Lease Agreement. The Frankford Township Committee reserves the right to accept or to reject any and all bids, including the highest bid. Each Lease will be a full five-year Lease. Preference shall be given in the following order: First to residents of Frankford Township, next to residents of contiguous municipalities, next to residents of Sussex County, and, last, to all others.
The property is being leased AS IS, WHERE IS condition subject to easements and restrictions of record, applicable zoning, and such facts as may be demonstrated by accurate survey. If any Bidder has a question or clarification concerning a term of the Agreement or the location of the proposed leased premises, the Bidder may contact the Township Clerk, at 973-948-5566, who can coordinate arrangements to inspect the premises.
